First Appointment

YAY! Finally our first appointment with HDB took place last saturday. It was a 2 month's wait since we submitted the application. Didn't know what to expect, but the three things everyone told me all came true (of course): lots of forms to sign; all your CPF will be wiped off; you feel poor as you'll have a big debt for the rest of your life.

Woahaha ... guess this is the path that every married couple must take, so i'll be no exception. Guess i'll have to continue to work hard till i'm 70!! hehehe ~~ If all things go well, we should get the keys on 25Jun and then we can begin the renovation. YAY new home here we come soon! ~

First Encounter with the Contractor

All tiles in brown/cream/white theme.

See that shiny mosaic on top? That's going to spice up the place! YAY! ~

Finally finally, we had our first (long overdued!!) meeting with the contractor! He's a really nice guy to work with and listened patiently to our requirements and also offered very helpful tips. Let me know if you need contacts for contractor and i'll be happy to pass it to you :)

We plan to have a very simple design, nothing fancy (yes it's quite unlike me haha). House is going to be in brown/cream/white theme. We chose the tiles on the same day so at least it made us feel we have accomplished something hehe. Not going to disclose which tiles for where lest i rob you of a surprise when the place is completed :)

In the end, i couldn't resist the shiny shades of brown mosaic (yes this is more like me) and chose something, well still complimentary to the overall theme, but had a bit of "cha-cham-bo" style in it. Woahahaha ~~~

Non-Stop Eating

My mum told me when she had me, she (or rather i) was also a hungry monster. She would have my dad buy her supper every night. Now i wonder if the symptom is hereditary, but indeed i am taken aback by my own appetite by the day.

I had a bowl of noodles for dinner, was feeling hungry again when i went out for choir practice (a mere 45 mins' gap). Had to tabao Mac Filet burger as my Part II. In the middle of the practice, i could hear the growling again, and immediately after we were released i bugged hubby to bring me for supper!

Went to Tiong Seng for porridge, and i almost finished the entire bowl by myself!! Now for those who know how i used to eat, you would know this is mission impossible in the past. Sorry no pictures as i was too hungry and had to gobble everything heee. I sure hope all the food is going to baby, and not staying with me! Sooooo scarrrry ~~~~~

The Ring

Haha okok it's not the scary movie, but my beading momentum is back! Got some new inspiration and over a day i did up three rings! They are all of different style and color, and it's my first attempt in making more complicated rings as such. Just wondering when i would get to wear them, as they do catch quite a lot of attention :P

Which one do you like best? (excellent photos with courtesy from my fav hubby hee)

New Creations

Our friends in Penang - KL and Evelyn - are getting married in May. Sadly we cannot attend the wedding, but i handmade a set of bridal jewelry for Eve. It's been a long time since i touched my tools so naturally my hands were a little retarded and awkward! Did a simple "pearl and crystal" necklace and earring set, hope she likes it!

Xiao Hui will be leaving this Sunday to the US for an exchange program. Surely we'll be missing her a lot but we're so happy about the new things that she will come to learn. She has a penchant for dangling earrings and so i made her a pair of mismatched ones. The color combi did turn out pretty nicely and maybe i should do something similar for myself too hehe.

Concise Theology

Every first saturday of the month, we gather for a Tyrannus Bible Training. The word "Tyrannus" is found in Acts 19:9-10 "He [Paul] took the disciples with him and had discussions daily in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord." It is synonymous with a place where believers gathered to learn about the Word of God.

We are using the book "Concise Theology" written by J.I. Packer, the author who wrote "Knowing God". Packer gave an excellent overview as well as adequate depth in theology over 94 short excerpts in 4 sections:

a. God Revealed as Creator
b. God Revealed as Redeemer
c. God Revealed as Lord of Grace
d. God Revealed as Lord of Destiny

We are halfway through the study, and I wouldn't say i fully understood everything shared in the book, but it is truly an excellent resource for learning about theology on a "deeper than surface yet shallower than the deep" kind of level; thus the title of the book "Concise Theology".

A new word i learnt in class was "Paraclete", which means the Holy Spirit, the Counselor, which came from the Greek word "parakletos" meaning one who gives support. Does anyone know how to pronounce the word "Paraclete" correctly?

Church Outing to Kota Rainforest Resort

Welcome to Kota Rainforest Resort!
Huts and everything within is wood-wood one!

You can catch fish along the streams or just admire the wonders of nature.

I was kinda afraid that my flip flops would get stucked in between the planks!

It's May Day! And the church took this excellent opportunity to arrange for a one day trip to Kota Tinggi. Many of us would be familiar with the waterfall, but Kota Tinggi Rainforest?

The coach left at around 615am where many of us are still half awake but thank God customs was ultra smooth and we reached the holiday destination around 930am. It's got nice quaint wooden chalets; a scenic quiet getaway place!

If you are game enough, you can take the mountain climbing trail and explore the rainforest. Of course your tai tai over here just sat around chatting with friends and waiting for the next tea break to happen ^_^Actually i gawked at my expanding waistline when i saw my own pictures. AHHHHHH the perils of pregnancy ~~~
